This course is a simple foraging walk where we hope to be able to identify a selection of edible plants and flowers, plus hopefully some edible Spring mushrooms.

We will meet at Burford House, Tenbury Wells outside the cafe at 12pm. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.

We’ll then set off for a beautiful walk around the grounds beside the river Teme to St. Marys Church, taking in some fields, hedgerows, the riverside and some woodland.

Then it’s back to Burford House for a wild food lunch based on what we find.

We will email all of you details of all the plants we find to help you remember what you have learnt.

We recommend you bring

  • Appropriate clothing
  • Camera
  • Note pad/pen
  • Some small containers or bags for your finds

Under 12 year olds can come for free, within reason; but please let us know how many will be coming in advance.
