We have visited Bute Park in Cardiff many times before and found numerous edible plants and mushrooms. It is one of our favourite foraging venues.
This course is a simple foraging walk where we hope to be able to identify a selection of Spring shoots and edible plants and flowers, plus hopefully some edible wild mushrooms :).
We will meet at the Castle Street entrance to the park beside the Pettigrew Tea Rooms at 12pm. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers. Tea or coffee is available from the cafe.
After a 2 to 3 hour walk around the Park we will go through our finds and answer any questions.
We will email all of you details of all the plants we find to help you remember what you have learnt a couple of days after the event.
Please arrive promptly. We will start the talk at 12pm and the walk at 12:20.
We recommend you bring
- Warm protective clothing and footwear
- Camera
- Note pad/pen
