This course is a simple foraging walk where we will identify a selection of edible and poisonous Spring shoots, plants, flowers and hopefully mushrooms.

The 166 bus will take you almost directly to the pub and stops at Purley and Woodmansterne Train Stations.

We will meet in Woodmansterne at the Woodman Pub at 12pm. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.

After a 2 to 3 hour walk around Banstead we will head back to the pub to discuss and taste our finds over a tasty wild food lunch.

We will email all of you details of all the plants we find to help you remember what you have learnt a couple of days after the event.

We recommend you bring

  • Warm protective clothing and footwear
  • Camera
  • Note pad/pen

Under 12 year olds can come for free, within reason; but please let us know how many will be coming in advance.

Drinks at the pub are not included.
